Braun Electric is proud to recognize Rodney Gonnuscio for an outstanding achievement early in his career. Rodney was awarded Outstanding Apprentice for his graduating class of July 2025, an honor that reflects a high level of performance and commitment throughout his apprenticeship.

This recognition provided Rodney the opportunity to attend the Electrical Training Alliance’s Outstanding Apprentice Conference during the National Training Institute (NTI) this past summer in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The conference brought together top apprentices from across the country for a week focused on professional development and leadership training.

During the week-long program, Rodney participated in leadership training conducted by NTI staff, along with representatives from Fluke, Klein Tools, Southwire, and other industry partners. The experience offered valuable exposure to leadership concepts and industry perspectives designed to support apprentices as they continue developing their careers.

Rodney also demonstrated exceptional skill in competitive settings. He earned 1st place in the Apprentice Rodeo competition for his graduating class, showcasing strong technical ability across multiple skill areas.

Later in the year, on October 25, 2025, Rodney represented IBEW Local 428 at the Western States competition in Kennewick, Washington, where he placed 3rd overall competing against apprentices from across the region. The competition evaluated participants across six categories:

• Electrical knowledge

• Residential wiring

• Material identification

• Conduit bending

• Motor control drawing

• Motor control wiring

Achieving a top-three finish in a multi-discipline competition highlights the level of preparation and technical focus required to perform at this level.

Rodney’s accomplishments reflect dedication to the electrical trade and a commitment to continued growth. Braun Electric congratulates Rodney Gonnuscio on these achievements and is proud to recognize his success representing both the company and Local 428.
